My father woke me up at 5.15a.m. in the morning. Mornings are always cold. How I wish to snuggle back under the covers. We reached golden mile complex at around 6.08a.m. It was still cold then. My mother queued up for this card thing which we were supposed to fill in with our particulars. My father was not coming with us. He had a company dinner that night. So my mother's sister (aka my aunt) came instead. Our first destination was to stop for breakfast! My sister and I had roti prata with milo for breakfast. Then we bought sweets at a shop beside the coffeeshop. We were already in Malaysia then. Then we sat in the bus for a 1 and a half hour journey to a restaurant for lunch. There were chilli crabs and a lobster for each. Don't be too happy.. The "lobster" was only about 6cm long. And you can't eat the legs.. so actually it's only 3cm.. It was ostrich farm next! There were shit all around cos birds don't recognise toilets. I was a little afraid though; they were quite tall..like as tall as two classical guitars stacked vertically on top of each other. And they can peck people.. They don't have teeth though, but height was enough intimidation=). The whole place stank like newly fertilised crops. Bought half an ostrich egg and a stand to put it on. Can decorate it and put things inside. The egg is quite big.. and hard. You can stand on it. Because the ostriches are already tame, they don't know how to peck their eggs open so the farmers have to drill it open. If not, the chick will die when it can't leave the eggshell. It was fruit farm next. We listened to a talk about bees and honey. There are three types of bees in a colony; the worker bee, the male bee, and the female queen bee. All worker bees are female (unfair) and can live up to 45 days. The male bee will have to mate with the queen bee to produce more bees. Upon doing that, it will die and go to heaven. So fortunate. Waiting all day for the worker bees to feed them and die only after they've enjoyed the sexual pleasure of life. The queen bee lives to a ripe old age of 7 to 8 years. This is because they eat royal jelly. The rest of the bees only eat pollen and nectar. I wonder if the male bees have extra-maritial affairs.. But they can only do it once right? Hmmm... There was a small animal farm inside the fruit farm. I carried rabbits and roosters. Haha. They were so nice to touch!! There were geese and small lambs too.. There were two monkeys tethered to a tree trunk each with a metal chain. One of them had enough food and was hiding under a man-made wooden roof. So we fed the other one with sweets bought earlier in the morning. It was so cute! We just held out our hand and the monkey would climb down and take it from our out-stretched palms! We tried throwing a sweet to see if the monkey knew how to catch. Haha, but it bounced off its nose and fell to the ground.. Afterwards, we went to feeed the fishes.. They nibbled at my hand for a while when I lowered the pellets down. There were so many of them! There was dinner and then time for a boat ride! We were going to see firefiles at Kota Tinggi. At first, we could only see a few of them, lights buzzing here and there, but as night fell on earth as a dark silent blanket, more and more of them came out and they were so breath-takingly beautiful! They lit up the entire tree! We felt as though christmas was here and we were looking at christmas trees.. The only thing that I felt was irritating was the flash lights of cameras. I remembered coming across an essay about this problem in school. But there were also people who said "Don't take photos!" when there were flashes. (The boat trip reminded me of OBS. I still remember snips and snatches of our days spent there. It was the most memorable experience for me. ) It was fun that day. 3 days to china! WHEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
