We went to help out at the TAN KAH KEE competition today. We reached around 7.40a.m. at Buona vista. Yes dear, BUONA VISTA. At 7.40 p.m. And when did i had to drag my weary body out of my cuddly warm nest? One can simply imagine the turmoil I went through in order to proceed with the 15 min walk to the nearest mrt of my house.

Anyway, enough with the morning blues. Thereafter, Tricia ditched us for the comfort of her mother's car and Gillian, Lemon and I sought our way to Biopolis together.

The competition was quite fun, and the participants were all from either universities or polytechnic students who sprout words that leave blanks in my mind with their big chim-my words.

Gillian and I were in the same group. I took the time and rang the bell when 15 min was up. Gillian was outside the room, scheduling participants to come in. She had to call the next few groups from a common holding area. We switched roles after a tiny intermission. We got to listen to a few presentations that was quite interesting, and they really did hold my attention. However, as morning bled into afternoon, i kinda switched off due to my hunger pangs as we did not have our tea break since the participants exceeded their time limits.

I took 1 and a half hour to come back. And I just finished the online test which results I will now proudly present to you: a big nice 2 out of 5. I just hope that mrs pang will not call me out and do her humility and determination speech.

=) looking forward to collection of paperweights on monday! Put in about 4.5 hours of cip today.=)

It's Good Friday tomorrow and sayo to school! Well, at least for three days...and if you are really that realistic, you can say we only hv a day of holiday. Loaded with the amount of revision and homework, I would say it is worse than what we get on a normal school day..sigh..

Anyway, how are your results? =) Mine were still rather alright, though I wasn't satisfied with my english results. I got band 1 for all my sciences though! =) Band 1 refers to the top 10% of the cohort, for people not living amongst the tkgian craziness of cramming.

There are many people in the walk of life that we meet, that may cause us much happiness, anger, sadness..Though we may not neccessarily always meet people that gives us happiness, and some choices of friends may not be correct, we would ultimately always gain experience and wisdom after a good or bad relationship.

Some friends say they are friends, or rather, they pretend to be, then they laugh behind your back and say otherwise. They pretend to hug you and dry your tears when you're sad, then turn around and stab you from behind. They gossip away your secrets that they swear they'll never tell, then deny the charge when you ask them about it, and even act all sad and depressed that you had so little faith in them.

Some others make friends just because they don't want to be alone, and when they find someone else better, more interesting, they just cast you aside, because you have outlived your usefulness. When their "better" friend is busy doing something and has no time for them, they turn back to you again. You are like a substitute, used only when needed, dispensed of when you're not. What makes me frustrated is that you are willing to be used thus - you don't even mind being a substitute, reason being you treasure that friendship not returned by the other party.

There is also another group of people, that aroused much of my dislike and repulse. They ignore you and treat you as if you were non-existent, then when someone of importance to them comes over, they immediately change their attitude, just because they want that someone of importance to think good of them.

Life is never a bed of roses. Through the 15 plus years of life, I have met many people, and they in turn have enriched my knowledge of living and dealing with problems, stress and challenges. In this complicated world we live in, there are too many setbacks and obstacles that we would need to overcome. To linger too long over a single incident will ultimately cause your defeat in the race of the survival of the fittest.

After so many things that have happened, I have learnt to take things in my stride. I will not tell you anything as you will not want to listen and instead try to push the blame away and think that I'm going against you and making life difficult for you on purpose. I hope that this will not cause unfortunate things to happen in your near future.

Enough of the "psychological teachings" of yq! Now to put a smile on your faces....

I was trying to find some jokes! But......the blank space probably placed a puzzled frown instead of a smile..haha=)

see ya on monday!=)

We went to Singapore Polytechnic today to learn more about chemistry and how it CHANGES THE WORLD!!!! Not.....haha. Not like how L "did".

We did perfume and paperweights. I added two drops of orchid into my perfume and I think it smells kinda nice. I wish you could smell it too! Imagine, you see my webpage and you smell......orchid flowers...haha.=) so cool... come, let's try. *sprays

I did two paperweights but due to time limit, we could not bring them home today as the polyesther was still rather wet. Mrs Chan will arrange it out with the lab technicans and we will receive them later on perhaps when school reopens.

After the chemistry course, we took the "little" grey ring files that were extremely clumsy to hold and went for lunch at dhoby ghaut, plaza singapura, kfc.

When I was going home, I could almost feel people looking at my file then staring at me. I mean, who goes around with a pinafore and a "SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC" file. I mean, the words were THAT big that i could see it even from afar...

Anyway, lots of stuff undone and I still thought I could spend the holidays wisely and revise. Well, I have been studying every single moment (except for tuesday) but somehow time just flew past..

sayo and see you in school!

dear friends, tomorrow is a day we embark on a journey of short-lived salvation.

To be frank, we can't actually count it as salvation, since we have to implement our "break" with rigid discipline of revision and hmwk.

Sigh.

Well, at least I'm better off than some of you guys, since our dance instructor miraculously allowed us to truly enjoy the hols by resuming dance practice only when term 2 starts.

I just read a little of my first national geographic magazine, and it was said that the "natural disasters" were worst than ever. Examples would include the heat waves that killed many in country A, floods in country B and increased frequency of monsoon rains in India. (They were labelled country A and B cos I forgot the proper address for those countries)

I think that mankind is really depleting the Earth's natural resources at such an incredibly quick rate that nature somehow wants to fight back by eliminating us. I think I'm getting affected by the recent death note 3 movie, but if you really think about it, these natural disasters that claimed so many lives would actually reduce usuage of eletricity and paper and whatnot since they would not be here to deplete these natural resources.

Loss of lives are a great pity. However, humans do have to face the wrath of nature. These calamities that we somehow claim to be "natural", is actually the cause of our many actions that continue to worsen the environmental condition of the Earth.

The actions of the present generation would deeply affect the many future generations to come. Well, an example of not treasuring the resources we have now is by yours truly using the computer with lamps/lights switched on.

I think we are all too comfortable with the present situations to stop now, so the biggest hope would be for other many Einsteins to develop an alternative for each of the natural resources that we would run out of someday or another.

May humans co-exist in peace and harmony with nature one day.

On a brighter note, our three friends returned from Malaysia today=)

I'm meeting ( I think) my friends on Sunday, but my family is going to my maternal grandmother's house on the same day too.

I will put myself to follow a relaxed but disciplined revision routine that would be implemented starting from Monday. Tuesday is a break since we are celebrating You Fang's birthday at taka's Seoul Garden=)

Sharon, LP and I will be heading towards Singapore Polytechnic on Saturday to start lessons there in term 2 because we have so incredible brains that we have already done our O-levels. haha. we wish. It's for a science course that we paid $27 for=)

that's all. See ya!

P.S. Don't forget, www.designersonshift.blogspot.com!
